Please remember that this is carbon steel, NOT stainless steel, so it will rust if you do not take proper care. About Aoshi No. 2 Steel (Carbon Steel): Aoshi No. 2 steel is one the YSS steel. Amount of carbon contained in the steel is 1.05 ~1.15%. The high containing carbon makes the knife really sharp. Aoshi No. 2 Steel contains 0.20 ~0.50 of Cr (Chromium) and 1.00 ~1.50 of W (Tungsten). Cr and W are ones of the hardest metals and make the edge incredibly hard and sharp.
